DRA2: Using Data and Focusing on Instruction Institute

DRA2 is a highly respected assessment that provides valuable information for instructional planning. So, why are teachers still filing the results in the file cabinet instead of analyzing them for instructional planning?

Newly designed regional institutes have been created to help teachers, coaches and district administrators do the following:

• Analyze the assessment data to inform instructional planning
• Use DRA2 data to create guided and flexible reading groups to maximize student achievement
• Use DRA2 data for vertical planning for benchmark success
• Understand the power of linking the DRA2 Continuum to the Focus for Instruction
• Develop effective classroom strategies to improve reading skills for all students
• Focus on modeling comprehension strategies to enhance instructional practices
